Plenty Chinese Restaurant

I usually do not leave comments when rating restaurants, however I had to this time. We placed our order at 9pm on a Friday and was told it would deliver around 10:15pm. We received a call at 9:27pm that our order was in the lobby. It was unbelievable.

The food was HOT, because it literally must have just left the wok moments before it hit our doorstep. The portions were massive, including the free chicken fried rice if you spend $30 or more. We had no complaints at all.

My fianc and I love Chinese Food and being from Chicago we know there are a lot of choices out there. If you like Cantonese Pan Fried Noodles, they have it here. It's $3.00 for a large, but we still get 2 or 3 to get us through the left overs. The Won Ton Soup has a great broth, which is hard to find. They also throw in veggies and pork to bulk it up a little.

This is our 3rd or 4th time ordering from Plenty and we have always given it 5 stars, but no comments. Tonight, I had to leave a positive note as most people probably would if they were STARVING and their food showed up in 27min. Amazing.

So I was a bit worried about trying this place, but I was hoping to find another Chinese restaurant I could trust besides the 2 I know and trust. I would call Plenty "Chinese Comfort Food" as opposed to a place you might pick if you were looking for a calorie-conscious Chinese restaurant. So, if you are looking for the sort of bar and grill equivalent of a Chinese restaurant, Plenty will be great, if you are looking for a low-cal low sauce, steamed entree, you shouldn't order here. Personally, I like either one depending on my mood and calories to spare that day/week.
Everything tasted good, the veggies were fresh and firm, not overcooked and there were plenty of veggies but also plenty of meat. They also have a lot of sauce, so if you hate that, don't order here, that will make the reviews more reality based.
My delivery was super fast, about half the estimate, so no problems there. Egg rolls, fried rice and crab rangoon was good. I'll order from here again when I want a change.

Ok, so not one for big reviews, but this place delivers awesome food. Crab Rangoon is the biggest fattest Rangoon I've ever seen, steamed dumplings are bursting as well. Complimentary egg roll with entree is fat and juicy. And the Generals chicken main dish with beef fried rice, (no extra charge for beef fried rice vs plain) is crispy, with a pleasing balance of sweet and spicy. And the entree is delivered in a nice, recyclable plastic container,( easily rinses out for Chicago's ridiculous recycling program), separates the chicken from the rice, in one contained and divided container. No mixing rice and protein containers on separate plate. Just open and enjoy.

Order arrived a lot earlier than the estimted time. Order as correct and the free General Tso's looks like a full order and not 1/4th the amount like the other places give you. Chiken is pretty crispy like I like and the dishes are all spicy as advertised which is great! We like it spicy in this house! So yeah it's pretty good. Maybe not the very bst ever but still good, large portions, arrives hot, and plases the spicy food eaters.

Was recommended by a friend, to try Plenty. I ordered the egg rolls, chicken egg foo young and chicken fried rice. Delivery was fast, food was piping hot and quite delicious. As I'm very picky about Chinese food, I look forward to trying other things here. To be fair, my only complaint is that their hot mustard (for the egg rolls) wasn't my preferred "burn the inside of my nose" type. All good, I'll get get some for home! Lol

I think I found a new go to for Chinese delivery (Cantonese). BBQ pork in the Lo Mein was on point, above average Mapo Tofu and excellent soups and egg rolls.

Crab rangoon great they don't skimp on that. The salt and pepper chicken a bit too salty but still good. House fried rice you can't go wrong with fried rice.

Food was DELISH! Highly recommend the Chicken Egg Foo Young and edamame!
